El <b>DHA tiene un efecto beneficioso en la estructura de la membrana celular aportando flexibilidad y permitiendo un buen intercambio de nutrientes; tambi\u00e9n contribuye en el crecimiento y desarrollo cerebral y visual<\/b>. Es un \u00e1cido graso poliinsaturado de cadena larga que el cuerpo fabrica en muy poca cantidad, por lo que es necesario un aporte externo a trav\u00e9s de la dieta o los complementos alimenticios.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.cofb.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/DHA-important-per-dona-nutricio-3.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-19693 alignright\" alt=\"DHA-important-per-dona-nutricio (3)\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.cofb.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/DHA-important-per-dona-nutricio-3.jpg\" width=\"393\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a>Para saber qu\u00e9 es el DHA y qu\u00e9 funciones tiene en el organismo, el Colegio organiz\u00f3 el 4 de febrero la conferencia \u201c<b>DHA: el agrado aliado de la mujer<\/b>\u201d, a la que asistieron m\u00e1s de un centenar de personas. Fue a cargo de la farmac\u00e9utica <b>Ester Risco<\/b>, directora de Phitonexus, profesora asociada de la Facultad de Farmacia de la UB y miembro fundadora de la Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de Fitoterapia, y en cuanto a la parte de indicaciones del DHA en la edad madura, se encarg\u00f3 su bi\u00f3loga <b>Ainhoa Calvo<\/b>, master en salud p\u00fablica por la Universidad del Pa\u00eds Vasco y master en gesti\u00f3n medioambiental por el Instituto de Investigaciones Ecol\u00f3gicas de M\u00e1laga, promotora y directora cient\u00edfica de SendaBio y profesora asociada de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad del Pa\u00eds Vasco. moder\u00f3 el acto <b>Anna Bach, vocal de Alimentaci\u00f3n y Nutrici\u00f3n del COFB<\/b>.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><b><div class=\"box shadow\"><\/b><b>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 es importante y especialmente para las mujeres?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>[caption id=&quot;attachment_19697&quot; align=&quot;alignleft&quot; width=&quot;142&quot;]<a href=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/7\/73\/Docosahexaenoic-acid-3D-balls.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-19697\" alt=\"Docosahexaenoic-acid-3D-balls\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.cofb.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Docosahexaenoic-acid-3D-balls.png\" width=\"142\" height=\"143\" \/><\/a> DHA<br \/>Fuente: Wikipedia [Ben Mills -Public domain-, v\u00eda Wikimedia Commons][\/caption]<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>El DHA es importante en la salud de la mujer porque interviene en muchos procesos fisiol\u00f3gicos, desde el embarazo y la lactancia siguiendo por el s\u00edndrome premenstrual, la mejora de los procesos inflamatorios relacionados con la dismenorrea, la obesidad y la fibromialgia, hasta la cuidado de la piel y la neuroprotecci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Durante el embarazo por ejemplo, aumenta la demanda de DHA debido a sus propiedades en la prevenci\u00f3n del parto prematuro y de la isquemia de la placenta. En el feto el DHA contribuye al desarrollo cerebral y de la retina. Por eso es una etapa en la que se recomienda especialmente la complementaci\u00f3n para poder alcanzar unos buenos niveles de este nutriente.<\/p>\n<p>Otra etapa importante es en edades avanzadas, en las que el DHA est\u00e1 relacionado con la reducci\u00f3n del d\u00e9ficit cognitivo leve, la demancia y la enfermedad de Alzheimer.<\/div><\/p>\n<p>Los complementos alimenticios a base de DHA suelen estar fabricados a partir del aceite de pescado azul. Si en una dieta variada la ingesta de \u00e1cidos grasos omega-3, y especialmente de DHA, suele ser baja, a\u00fan lo es m\u00e1s en las <strong>dietas vegetarianas que suelen contener cantidades limitadas de DHA, y las dietas veganas generalmente no contienen<\/strong>. En estos casos, los pacientes presentan niveles de esta mol\u00e9cula en su cuerpo sustancialmente m\u00e1s bajos de lo estipulado dentro de la normalidad y es aconsejable tomarlo en forma de complementos alimenticios, en este caso procedentes de microalgas.<\/p>\n<p>En la conferencia se destac\u00f3 la importancia de la calidad y tambi\u00e9n la presencia de la<strong>\u00e1cido fit\u00e1nico<\/strong>, un \u00e1cido graso saturado reconocido como factor de riesgo en des\u00f3rdenes neurol\u00f3gicos y visuales, prooxidante y citot\u00f3xico. Se presenta en peque\u00f1as cantidades en determinados alimentos, como los productos l\u00e1cteos y la grasa animal de los rumiantes y del pescado. Es un potente antagonista del DHA ya que puede reducir o anular su efecto sobre la inhibici\u00f3n de la apoptosis y neuroinflamaci\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n es especialmente negativo para el feto y los ni\u00f1os de poca edad. Por tanto, se aconseja que la utilizaci\u00f3n de suplementos de DHA de aceite de pescado est\u00e9n libres de \u00e9ste de \u00e1cido.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><strong>Se recomienda que la ingesta de DHA en formato de complemento alimenticio sea procedente de aceite de pescado ultra-purificado, libre de metales pesados y libre de \u00e1cido fit\u00e1nico.
